The Kalash valleys of Bumburet, Rumbur and Birir lie in the Hindu Kush in Chitral and are home to the Kalasha, one of Pakistan’s smallest communities, with their own language and religious traditions. Bumburet, the largest and most populous of the three, is reached by road from Ayun.
