Muzaffarabad is the capital and largest city of Azad Kashmir, near the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers. It was founded in 1646 by Sultan Muzaffar Khan, who built its Red Fort the same year, and buses run from here up the Neelum Valley.
